Default Still really hungry!!!
I'm beginning to think I didn't load good enough..I didn't gain any weight and now I'm on vlcd 2 and really hungry! I have a really hard time accepting gorging but I did eat. ..Should I load and start over again? I had a -4 loss from yesterday to today. I wasn't this hungry when I did this diet last time.

I'm curious about this too. I didn't gorge when I loaded and Ive been hungry all day long. This is only day 1 VLCD though. I take 8 drops every 3 hours. I'm beginning to wonder if my dose it too high. I'm going to keep my dose the same for today and if by mid day tomorrow I'm still starving, then I'm going to reduce to 6 drops.

Do you think your dose is too high?

I certainly wouldn't reload having hCG in my system. I think that people often think that "gorging" means eating anything and everything until you want to vomit. I doubt in the 1950's that Dr S meant that when he used the term. If you ate a reasonably high volume of fats with your meals, then I suspect you are ok. You don't have to gain 5 pounds to have successful loading; some people lose on it. I only gained a bit over a pound, and it didn't phase me because my weight always fluctuated from one day to the next anyway by a pound or two.

I think that some hunger is normal the first few days of P2. Just stick tight and hold on, and don't go randomly adjusting drops yet. Your body is still adjusting and stabilizing your serum hCG levels.

If you're hungry, the dose is off. You should never take an appetite suppressant when on hcg because it masks the hunger and you need to FIX the hunger or else you're losing muscle and the wrong kind of fat which will make it easy to regain. So it's important to fix it.

I'm another one that has been starving the whole time. I'm on VLCD4 and feel like I couldn't be hungrier if I wasn't eating anything ! I'm on the pellets
and was following directions of 4 3x a day. Yesterday I tried lowering that to 3 3x a day and felt a little better, but then didn't lose anything on the scale so took 4 again
this morning and had 1/2 an apple and am just miserably hungry again. I wish I could figure this out, thought by day 3 I'd be over the worst hunger. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Stats:
Starting weight- 152
Have lost 4 pounds in first 5 days
Need to lose 25 more

Hi Grammy,

I just started R2 and on day 7. I've been fighting extreme hunger since day 1. I read a post by mgsondance saying "I've read of so many people who are on too low a dose of hcg that i wanted to start this thread. if you're using the small, 1/2" needles as most of us are, you need to be using 200 units of hcg. this is because the absorption rate is less than if you inject into the muscle, with the 2" needles."

This post is from back in 2009 and I was wondering if it still holds true for today's dieters. I was unaware of this during R1 and was administering 130 iu in the belly area using a 1/2" needle. This round I started at the same dosage and area with the exception of today when I injected mid-thigh. I plan on continuing to inject in the thigh and was hoping to get my dosage worked out so that I dont have to go through another 32 days of extreme hunger as I did last Round which caused me to cheat more times than I'd like to admit

Should I start with 200 iu as mentioned in the post or has it changed since then?

Thank you!

It takes a couple of days for hcg to level out if taking drops when changing dosage so any quick change is probably a psychological one. A higher dosage also does not mean that you will lose more. The dosage needs to be just right in order to not be hungry so that you are losing the right kind of fat. Too high and too low will both result in hunger and losing something else than abnormal fat. There is a good thread to read through about this in the newcomer info.

With hcg injections, the quickest way to adjust dosage is to skip a day. With hhcg, you can lower or raise drops but make sure you wait a couple of days to change again. The differences can be small, as in 20 drops a day vs 24. I don't know about hcg drops though.

It is normal to be hungry for 3-5 days on hcg as it takes time for the levels to build up. Loading will help with that since you are supposed to have eating higher fat containing foods (good fats) but it won't hinder a good P2 if you didn't load properly all the way. I don't think I ate more than I normally used to and did finer after the initial hunger went away. Someone correct me if I am wrong!

And appetite suppressant will only make it so that you don't know if your dosage is correct and thus are losing the abnormal fat or not.
