I make a green juice for supper. One green (kale, swiss chard, or spinach), and a purple (purple cabbage or beets), and add celery, carrots ect. And drink immediately.

I make a great low carb shake that is dairy free and can be used in induction.

1 cup "SO" brand unsweetened coconut milk (1 carb plus lots of nutrients, but little protein) available at Henry's and Stater Bros.; green carton
1 raw egg (yes, I know, but if you use a fresh egg from a free range chicken there shouldn't be any worry, and here's your protein, naturally)
1 packet stevia
1-2 tsp. cocoa powder (1 carb per tsp.)
1 tsp. psyllium or flaxmeal (here's your fiber)

Use a blender and you won't even taste the egg. I don't like eggs at all, so this is the only way I get them when I'm in ketosis.

"I guess I'll put this on the Recipe board. I'm new to this."

I love protein shakes (USN whey powder for me) because they help me get through the day without any urge to snack - AND they taste great. My job involves a lot of walking about (I'm part of the Royal Family) and I often find I'm flaking out unless I have a really good breakfast. Since my working day starts at silly O'Clock, a good thick shake with added porridge oats is a fab way to fill up and stock up without adding to the carb load.

any recommendations for low carb high protein supplements/shakes?

I'm looking for a shake mix I think I have found the one I like best it's low in carbs and not too high in protein for me:

it's Phd Diet Whey chocolate, I was wondering if any one had any personal recommendations?

Personally... I prefer any 100% whey protein. I avoid soy completely. But that's me. Glad you found one you like!

I'm interested - lots of people on here use protein shakes can someone tell me why?

I don't use them often... sometimes I will have one after a difficult workout, or during the summer when it's just too hot for a cooked meal. But not a regular part of my diet by any means.

I use protein shakes after a workout because it helps me to recover more quickly. I like Shakeology - especially the green berry flavor. This shake cannot be used during induction, but it can be used as a meal replacement. I love it.
