Default HHCG and NS
So i am a long time nutrisystem user. i've gotten off track the last year and a half and have gained significant (to me) weight. I have had friends that did this diet with great success. I am trying it to get a jump start on getting back on track. i need to lose about 35 total. i hope to lose 15-20 while on hcg. i am concerned about ending it and going on to phase 3 and phase 4. i want this to work and i dont want it to be for nothing. i understand we dont start adding starches/sugars back until phase 4. my plan was to transition from hcg back to NS to further my diet and lose the remaining 10-15. has anyone else done this? has anyone here used NS as the food to start to adding back into your diet?

thanks. i started at 159.5 and am on VLCD 9 and currently 151.8

Is NS Nutri-system? I have not done this, but here's my take on it.

Go from HCG to phase 3, which is to slowly add new foods back to your diet but NO starch or sugar, up to about 1500 calories at least. This phase lasts for 21 days and is very important for stabilization. You shouldn't lose too much in this phase, again for stabilization. If you go right to NS, there will be carbs and sugars in the food and it won't be Dr. S protocol. After 21 days, phase 4 adds carbs and sugars back slowly. Some people try to continue to eat low carb because they seem sensitive to carbs and sugar. I think you could start NS at this point, but it might not allow weight loss in the same amount that it does for people going straight to NS. It might even cause a gain if it's too many carbs and sugar at once. Maybe you should just follow the whole protocol, and after 21 days of slowly adding some carbs and sugar and staying the same weight, you could try NS at that point - or just do another HCG round.

The only reason I can think of not to use it is the ingredients. You would need to pick your meals carefully and make sure there aren't any starches or sugars, so you would need to look at each ingredient label carefully. You may find that you can eat them.
