Default Fainting
Ok so I just fainted for 16 hours. My dad found me on the floor and dragged me into bed. The doctor that visited me said that I wasn't getting enough sleep. I think his diagnosis was bullshit but anyway. Have you ever fainted? When , Where, And WHY?

Ima go rest a bit now. My ribs hurt

Going back a couple of years here, I was playing football and being a winger obviously made it so I had to constantly running up the wing, anyway I'm playing against this hefty full back who took it upon himself to smash my face in with his elbow. But on I went after a bit of treatment, but about 15 minutes afterwards I was preparing to take a corner and I suddently felt queasy and collapsed. I woke up 4 hours later in a hospital bed, and after much bickering, went home.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope you get well soon.

My hair caught fire once. It didn't stay on fire long enough to actually burn my skin, except the back of my neck a bit. After it was out, however, the shock of it all caused me to faint. I got sick to my stomach, started getting cold all over my body and I thought I was going to throw up. The last thing I remember is thinking, "I've got to lay down." The next thing I knew, I was waking up on the floor and it seemed like hours later, but it was only a few minutes.

Not for 16 hours!

I have fainted before. It was usually attributed to illness. If it's a bug it hits me pretty hard. I've been really lucky this year.

I have passed out several times. Once in my kitchen and several times at work. However they never lasted for more than a couple of minutes. It hasn't happened for years though.

Fainting for 16 hours though? That sounds like a bigger problem than just needing more sleep. Maybe you should get a second opinion on that diagnosis.

Rock I'd get a second opinion...one doesn't "faint" for 16 hours. I fainted once when I had cut my finger while peeling an apple, I handle other people's blood no problem, I'm good in an emergency cut myself seriously....I'm down for the count

I was in a hospital visiting somebody. I also hadn't eaten all day and took a couple of pain killers for a headache.

I was standing there, talking to him and suddenly I was on the floor and there was smelling salts under my nose.

(NOTE: Doctors and nurses HATE it when you faint in their hospital.)

Apparently I smelled something and it just flipped my switch off for a second. Weird feeling.

The only other time was more a seizure than fainting. I was in the doctor's office for a SEVERE asthma attack and I had also jacked my back up. I tried to get off the table, stood up and felt a white-hot pain in my back. Next thing I knew I woke up surrounded by 3 doctors (NOTE- See note above) and soaked in my own piss. Apparently I started convulsing and lost control of my muscles... ALL of my muscles. Good thing I didn't have breakfast that morning.

That's called passing out not fainting. I've done it once. I was laying down reading for hours without moving, I jumped up to get something to eat and all the blood rushed out of my head. .I remember making it to the kitchen and all of a sudden it went black. I woke up back to the fridge like 5 seconds later.

Well, I guess that's what I did, then. I was in bed, sick and had been laying down for hours. I suddenly got up and made it as far as the thermostat in the hallway to turn down the heat. The next thing I knew I was face down on the rug. The really weird thing was that I was actually awake before I was conscious of the fact I had nose dived. Odd feeling. You KNOW something terrible has happened but you don't know what it was and you're really terrified. It took me a long time to swim back to the wakey-wakey shorline.

It's happened a few times since. Always when I'm sick, though.

Same here. I went to the doctor the first time and while they couldn't figure out why I fainted, they did find an unrelated thyroid problem. It hasn't happened recently so I doubt I'll ever find out why it happens.

16 hours is UNCONSCIOUS, not fainting...and it's definitely not a "you need more sleep" thing.
