Hello all. I am on my first day of VLCD.
![]() 3.5 oz lean beef- cooked in a skillet and added Mrs. Dash seasoning 1 tomato with salt and pepper 1 orange I do not have the grissini or melba toast or I would have had that with it as well. I was wondering- can I put the mean and some cut up tomatoes on a lettuce leaf and roll it like a burrito or would the lettuce leaf not be okay because I already have one vegetable. ![]() I will look through the recipe sites for some answers on how to make more meals with lean beef. I plan on having it once a day and rotating with round steak or chicken breast (all measured for weight before cooking). Also, does it matter what order you eat your meals in? Ex. meat first, then veggie, then fruit, then grissini or melba toast? Also, was cooking the meat in a skillet ok? I didn't use butter or oil- just the meat and added Mrs. Dash at the end. BTW- the total calories so far is around 300. How am I going to not go over 500 when I still have one meal left? If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know. Thank you. Carol *butterfly* |

I often use tomato as fruit so I can have a salad or a 'taco' like you describe.
Tomato and orange may be too much carbs in one meal for many, that is probably where the calories are above 500. If you stick to cucumber and 4-5 strawberries next meal, it will even out most likely. You can eat your melba and your fruit whenever you want. Meat and veggies are to be eaten together. Have you read Pounds and Inches? It is a must read so that you understand what you are doing! Good luck! |

Hello. Yes, I have read Pounds and Inches. I have to see things to be able to understand them rather than read them. So, the tomato can be considered a fruit? And, if I use the tomato as a fruit I can eat a burrito (lettuce leaf)? That would be awesome. Okay, thank you. I am planning on having strawberries and a cucumber along with a petite sirloin steak. Thank you!
