I had to search for a bit but found my post from many months ago about the supplements I used in R1...when to take, etc. This worked great for me in R1, I wasn't as diligent about taking them R2 and R3 though. Hope this helps:
I added the following metabolism/digestion boosters based on some research I did on the forum and some help from folks over in the "Hating P4" thread: 1) l-carnitine 500mg CAPSULES x 4 (not "acetyl", but the "fumerate" would also work). Two first thing in the AM on an empty stomach then 2 more between lunch and dinner when my stomach is relatively empty. Bought mine at Walgreens (don't remember the brand but they were B1G1 free so both bottles were only $16). Wal-Mart was out but they also do carry them. I went to GNC and it was $50 for 60 capsules...insane!! There are conflicting opinions on taking the second set of two capsules. Some say before bed so they can do their work while you sleep, others mentioned there might be a risk they will keep you up at night. I've tried them a few times at night and they did seem to keep me awake so I'm really targeting the time between lunch/dinner to take them. 2) Digestive enzymes. I found the DEs at Wal-Mart and they were pretty inexpensive, $8 for 200, I think. They are Spring Valley Multi-Enzyme Digestive Formula 1 Billion Active Cultures. I take 3 tablets twice per day with my two biggest meals. 3) A Probiotic. I also found these at Wal-mart for around $11 for 60. They are also made by Spring Valley and are "Super Strength Probiotic Acidophilus 2 Billion Active Cultures". The supplement facts list only Lactobacillus Acidophilus. I take 1 at night before bed. I believe it's this one that's supposed to really help keep "things moving". Good luck! |
