Default Egg Whites in Phase 2??
I've been seeing a lot of references to egg whites on the Forum. Is it okay to have egg whites during phase 2 as one of the protein meals? If so, how much? 2 egg whites, or 1/2 cup of the liquid??

I am on day 13 of lvcd, and I am really struggling with Hunger, so looking for some options and variety.

Thank you!!

Protocol says you can have 1 egg with 3 egg whites as a substitute for a protein ON OCCASION. I wouldn't do it every day because there is less protein in it than meat and we're already on the verge of protein deficiency. If you have hunger, the problem is not variety but your dose. What are you on?

I am using the drops. I take about 15 3x's a day. I'm drinking a lot of water, tons of tea, a little black coffee, eating my 2 fruits and melba toast. I did just recently realize that I was only eating 3oz of protein instead of 3.5 and I was only eating 1 cup of lettuce or spinach or cucumber or tomato because I thought that was equal to 1 serving.

Maybe my hunger was from too few calories????

It's more likely your dose is off. And you'll lose better and do away with carb cravings if you cut the melba. Are you sure your drops have hcg in them? Check the ingredients for sure. If they contain hcg, try skipping your hcg for 24 hours and see how you feel by evening of your skip day. If better, take the drops to 12. If the same or worse, try upping to 18.

I've had egg whites (3 egg whites + 1 whole egg) twice on this diet and have woke up to a stall both times. You will be lucky if you can pull it off. I was sad, because I really just wanted some eggs for breakfast for once!

Something that helped with my hunger early on was a very filling green smoothie (handful of strawberries, handful of spinach, ice, water, vanilla stevia). Sounds yuck, but you really can't taste the spinach. It makes a huge portion and counts as your fruit and veggie (I added Jay Robb protein powder or lowfat cottage cheese to mine to replace an entire meal, but that might not work for all).

I ate eggs probably 7 times in my first 26 days. I never had a stall or gain that I would attribute to that. I scrambled one egg with equivalent of 3 egg whites with a few prganic spinach leaves and a few grape tomatoes. It is the simplest meal that I ever made, too! It also made my transition to P3 a little nicer in the beginning, because I was fairly certain that they were a "safe" food for me at the beginning of that eating phase.

Ok. Thank you. My bottle says:
active ingredients, then proprietary blend, then human chorionic gonadotropin
So, I assume it is really HCG. I ordered it from TGLNutrition.com

I will cut out the Melba completely. I am now on day 16 and I feel better. Still get hungry, but the meals fill me up for a short while.

It ia homeopathic hCG. Whether or not it really DOES contain hCG is still a question; there have been many bogus products on the market.
