Default On VLCD3 and no release. Need advice!!!
So, I am really bummed. Today is VLCD3 and I didn’t release any weight. Yesterday I only lost 1.6 pounds. I have read about everyone having big releases the first couple of days and I was really hoping for that. I need some advice based on my situation.

1. I got really sick at the end of loading day 2 and threw up everything. I think I pushed it too hard, because I hadn’t done that well on Thanksgiving. I had stuffed myself on Turkey Day, but the foods just weren’t that fattening. When I woke up on VLCD1, I had lost 3 pounds from throwing up and from diarrhea (1 pound from loading the first day and 2 pounds below my starting weight). I am wondering if this is causing my first couple of days to not reflect as much loss.

2. I have Type 1 Diabetes. I am on an insulin pump and I am still trying to adjust my basal rate to reflect many less carbohydrates in my system. Both on VLCD1 and 2 I had low blood sugars and had to bring them up with 100% apple juice. Each box has 23 carbs and 100 calories. Could this be the reason for my lack of releases? I didn’t want to use my fruit to bring it up and be starving later.

3. I am taking homeopathic drops. I take 10 drops three times per day. I was starving VLCD1, so I took 10 more drops and then released 1.6 the next day. Yesterday I just took the regular amount and didn’t release any. Could the amount of drops affect my weight loss?
Sorry for the lengthy post, I just don’t want to live off of 500 calories and lose very little.

Thanks in advance!

Your losses are good. But yes apple juice will totally stall you. It's got more carbs than even fruit. It may be challenging for you with Type I diabetes. I'm not sure we've ever had a Type I on the forum. You don't vary the amount of drops unless you have hunger.

So, do you think it would be better to just add another piece of fruit if I absolutely need to in order to bring my blood sugar up?

Usually diabetics do better by taking out the fruit and adding more protein but that is with Type II. You might need to consult a doctor for your situation. More fruit is going to majorly stall your losses.
