Now I am aware of the basic no-no's, but I had no idea that my shampoo, deodorant, soap, make-up, etc played that big of a factor in this diet. Please tell me the majority of you continued to use your usual toiletries throughout the diet... What are some things that you did decide to not use, or change?

I did not change my deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, or makeup. The only thing I stopped using was my regular lotion and moisturizer. I used Neutrogina Oil-Free, which is okay, but not like the real thing. I've read somewhere on this forum that it's okay to use coconut oil as a moisturizer in P2, but I haven't tried it. I'm not trying to advise you to break protocol, just telling you what I did. It didn't seem to hamper my weight loss. Good luck!

I believe that in Europe (where Dr. Simeons orginated this protocol) their cosmetics were made differently than ours were in the US. That is why Dr. S. recommended avoiding those items. I think you are safe to continue to use your regular toiletry and cosmetic items. I think most of us continue with our normal products with the exception of some moisturizers and lotions. I have seen some older posts where people had recommended a few lotions that are generally safe to use. I remember one was Corn Huskers but i don't remember what others were mentioned. I hope this helps you.
Best of luck in your weight loss journey! |

Actually, it has nothing to do with time... the point is that you don't want to be using any product with oil in it as it absorbs thru the skin, and could affect your results. Myself, I used aloe vera during P2, and now have made the conscious decision to no longer 'slather' on the chemicals like I used to. (and I was a big 'slatherer')

The only thing that I have changed is the food going in my mouth, taking the drops and not having any cravings! I even use body lotion ![]() |

I have been following the updated P&I's by Dr Lipman. In his book ( www.bestbuyhcg.com), he plainly states that "the FDA has found no evidence that ingredients used in current day cosmetic and personal care products cause endocrine disruption or alter metabolism in humans". ![]() |

I wouldn't trust anything the FDA (or any government agency for that matter) 'approves'. More and more people are realizing 'the lunatics are running the asylum'. |

Lol definitely true. Most of the FDA board has always consisted of previous politicians. No thanks! ![]() |

I am on round 3 and the first rounds I didn't really change anything except no lotion. I have been pleased with my weight loss and don't think that those products affected me one way or the other. I don't know how to tell if what I use has "oil" in it or not. Does anyone know how to really understand all those ingredients on my products. What are we trying to avoid anyhow?
