Can I follow the 800 calories protocol and if so how?

I read this on another forum and was wondering if it would work the same.

PS...if so, I'll be working out intensely for an 30 minutes to an hour everyday. (so I thought maybe I could eat more to avoid fainting?)

Note: I am NOT trying to modify the protocol but just trying to get in more muscle activity.

And if not....maybe I could add another serving of protein and be okay?

"Yes, Dr. Simeons original hCG Diet Protocol is real and has been modified and increased to 800 calories, an LCD (low calorie diet) which is more tolerable, equally effective and much safer than the original 500. Here's why: in order forthe hCG hormone to access abnormal fat reserves, your body must be in "starvation mode". By definition, "starvation mode" is a caloric intake of less than 800 calories daily. Physicians have found that their patients were able to tolerate a 600-800 daily caloric intake much better than a strict 500 and were able to complete the entire 6 weeks of injections. Additionally, the patients experienced similar weight loss results in 6 weeks and noted a significant decrease in the length of diet plateus, cravings and complaints of hunger. The idea is not to go above 800 calories and also incorporate daily multi-vitamins/minerals, eat breakfast (breakfast skippers are 450% more likely to store fat if the body has no fuel), eat more protein (burns fat, curbs appetite),and continue light exercise for 30 minutes daily. This new modified protocol is safer, more effective and much more tolerable for patients. The weight stays off long term beacuse the hypothalamus in the brain resets the bodys metabolic rate. Look up 800 calorie hcg diet and give it a try!"

I know people that exercise heavily often do a protein shake or something before or after their workout in addition to their 500 calories. I don't know about the above statement and going up to 800 calories. I have read that is what people do when they don't want to lose anymore weight but need to finish out the round of HCG so I am not sure you will lose weight eating 800 calories. . . .

Konidurase 04-11-2011 04:29 PM

That statement is all wet. 500 calories isn't dangerous on hcg. 800 is not "more tolerable" because if your dose is right, you're perfectly satisfied with 500. That's just hype. But if you are exercising heavily, you may want to up your protein a bit. But don't assume you have to. Try the real protocol first and if you find you have to increase your protein a bit you can.

breakfast skippers are 450% more likely to store fat if the body has no fuel apparently the person who wrote this has never looked into intermittant fasting. the whole myth about having to have breakfast seems to have originated with cereal companies and has stuck.
Some people do well with breakfast, some don't but not eating when you first get up does not increase storage of body fat.

I'm glad I asked....you really can't trust 80% of the HCG statements made by people on the internet.

What kind of protein shake? Oh wait nevermind, I can just look it up http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png

DaleJrGirl 04-11-2011 06:27 PM

You can, but ...jay robb egg white or whey is what most of the shakers drink.

I am wondering also about 800 calories because they said that if your weight is ideal weight, you will be starving mode. You need to take 800-1000 calories. In this case, will hCG help losing more weight?

hotelhyatt 04-25-2011 08:10 PM

Why would you be doing the protocol if you were at ideal weight?

F1grandprix 04-25-2011 09:00 PM

I am eating a 750 calorie diet and lost 11.5 pounds the first week with no exercise.

AlabamaBoyz 04-25-2011 09:02 PM

The 1st week is mostly water, and guys lose faster and more, than women.

olivelappers 04-25-2011 09:16 PM

The clinic I am going to has not seen any difference in weight loss between a 500 and a 750 calorie diet. I think they only recommend the 750 calories to those with an ideal weight over 200. Their ideal weight for me is 242.

Greapyjeory 04-25-2011 09:49 PM

I am just curious. People have different ideal weight, I don't know mine yet. but if my ideal weight is at 21 BMI, I would wanna lose a bit more to reach 20 BMI. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png

Stainditnew 04-25-2011 10:14 PM

The clinic set my goal weight at 242. My personal goal is 230. Neither of the Dr. that I am seeing use BMI. They said it is old school. I would think that you would want to know your goal before you started.

That is a very old posting, startdate. I don't think that person is still on the forum.
