I need help. I have successfully lost 10 pounds.. been on the diet since Sept 17th (loading days).. but for the past week + I have been pretty much stable with my weight (minus the 2-3 pds I lost to get me to 140).
Here are my weights to get you an idea: 17th at time of loading: 150 24th: 143 25th of September: 142 30th of September: 141.2 Saturday October 1st- 139.4 Sunday- 139.8 Monday- 140.4 Tuesday- 139 Wednesday- 140 I am not sure why my weight is sort of just staying where it is at and fluctuating back and forth in the 140-139 range. I am following the diet, I haven't cheated once. I drink anywhere between 72 to 96 oz a day. I am in ketosis (mild to moderate). I also drink 1-3 cups of green tea a day. I am doing the 800 calorie instead of 500 with the protein shakes that diet doc provides. That is just to keep my blood sugar levels up. I tend to get really weak- often- and so this was the approach I chose to take. I am eating lots of spinach and salads. I've been having ground beef (5% fat), ground chicken, chicken breast, and tilapia. Yesterday I had 3.5 ish (I had an extra bite of my fiances.. so I did KIND of stray due to that) ounces of filet with a salad and then i made myself an apple pie thing with apples, cinnamin, and a little stevia. I can't do the apple day because I am allergic to apples unless I cook them- and I'd rather not cook them. I did just recently add Melba toast to my diet. I've been having oranges as my fruit, but I've read maybe that causes a stall? My dress fitting is tomorrow and I wanted to be 5 pounds lighter. The wedding is in 2 weeks and my goal was to be 130. At this point, I am really discouraged and afraid I won't get there. And also, as suggested before- I HAVE used the restroom. Haha. I am about to cry. I am literally beating myself up trying to stick to the diet 100%, and it just doesnt seem to want to work. Today for lunch I have lettuce wraps with crock pot chicken salsa. Tonight I am going to grill chicken and then do cucumbers. |

Relax, take a deep breath. You will be OK. Keep doing what you're doing. This is perfectly normal. I have never spoken to anyone who's been successful on this diet without stalling or even short term gains at times. YOU have to hunker down, just keep doing what you're doing and you will lose the weight. Remember you put on your jeans and the were looser...? You are getting smaller every day. You are in ketosis. these are other ways to measure your progress. I am actually excited for your dress fitting tomorrow, because they can measure you tomorrow, and you will see how much better your dress fits now and you can relax and lose some more weight. You are going to make yourself a nervous wreck. You are also at that infamous 3rd week where many people suffer stalls and gains, that doesn't mean they aren't losing fat. I had swordfish twice this past week and both times had big losses after stalling for over a week and a slight gain... Don't know if it will help you, but I will sure be buying more of it... ![]() |

but there has to be SOMETHING I am doing wrong! I am having a cranky day. My coworkers asked if I was okay.. and I feel like a chubster today.
I know you are right, and normally with all of this I wouldn't be majorly concerned. If I didnt have the upcoming deadline of the wedding, I'd have all the time in the world to lose 10-15 pounds. It is not a crazy out of reach goal.. but what am I DOING WRONG where I am not dropping? Would you guys suggest me cutting out the protein shakes? I am going to stop with oranges and only have strawberries for fruit. Mixing the veggies don't seem to affect me really because I was doing that during my 7 pound weight loss- so I don't think that is something I need to adjust. My only thought is the oranges.. the melba toast.. and maybe even the stevia? (Though I used that during my weight loss too). Could it be maybe I am not having ENOUGH veggies? I am having a bowl full of salad with the apple cider vingerette dressing every night. For the soups I make I add about 2-3 cups of spinach so I make sure I get a good fill. Yesterday I have the Italian wedding soup.. and it was a little salty. I put a lot of Garlic powder in it.. or something. Maybe that was the reason for the gain? I WISH i had done an initial measurement when I started to see if I really have lost inches. Alex told me last night he is so proud of me and the way I am sticking with the diet. He says he really sees the difference. I don't... and then with this lack of weight loss and stall of about a week + I want to crawl under my desk and hide. It's not fair. What do we think though? Cut out the shakes and just do tea for breakfast and then the dinner/ lunch? Would that help speed up the weight loss? And yes.. I do remember being able to wear my skinny jeans this weekend. I still see the same stomach though- so I dont know where the weight loss is. I am really hard on myself, and I know that. I am thankful for only needing to lose 25 pounds total.. but ARG! |
