Questions and Concerns about Repeatedly Doing the HCG Diet - Why?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie but I have been lurking for a while as well as researching HCG online. I
originally found this forum when I was looking to buy some items from All Day Chemist and one of the threads here was the first to pop up in Google. Now I'm on a fitness kick and am interested in HCG. I read Dr. Simeon's protocol and after browsing this forum for a bit, I have one important question -

How often do people do the HCG diet and why do you keep repeating it?

Basically, I'm wondering if it's common for people (on the forum or just HCG dieters in general) to either not get the results they wanted the first time or gain the weight back and have to do it again. The reason the HCG diet appealed to me is that in Dr. Simeon's paper he cites the diet is a 1 time only deal and once you do the diet correctly (follow it to the letter) and lose the weight, it won't come back.

I've tried other diets before and lost over 20 pounds. My main interest in the HCG diet was that it seemed like a 1 time deal that would 'reset' your body and especially got rid of the 'extra fat' in your body.

Have people found this to be true? Is it normal to regularly return to HCG over the years because the weight keeps coming back?

I am not sure either I am understanding your question, or perhaps you may not understand how "rounds" work.

Depending on how much weight you need to lose, you may need to do multiple rounds. For example, I had about 84 pounds to lose. I lost about 32 on my first round. So I enter P3 and P4 to stabilize. I am now on my 2nd round. and I am sure I will require a 3rd round to reach my goal.

I do believe that some folks might use HCG as you describe it above. But I do not think that is how it is intended. If it is done correctly your weight should stabilize and you should correct any gains when they occur, rather than waiting until it is slarge enough to require another round of HCG.

I think people come back to it when they have gained some back, because it's familiar and pretty darned easy. ANYONE will gain weight back if they go back to their "old" way of eating. It's not magic, it does require a lifestyle change. Most people I've seen on this forum that have gained have done so as a result of not being diligent in maintenance. Tho there are a few people that seem to have some underlying issues (hormones, gluten sensitivity, etc) that give them trouble. As with everything, YMMV...

Deb, people do more then one round because they have more then 20 pounds to lose and on this protocol you need to give your body breaks from the rapid loss and hcg so you dont get hcg immunity.

Yes sometimes people come back to the diet because they go back to there old eating habits that got them over weight in the first place. There is no diet in the world that once successfully done can keep the weight off if you dont change your old habits.

HCG does work, you do get rid of your abnormal fat but its your job to keep that abnormal fat at bay by learning new habits and discovering which foods your sensitive to.
