Default Digestive Problems - Need Help
I've been reading the boards for quite some time now, but never posted. I really need some help with this.

I was doing great on the diet. Lost 18lbs in about 3 weeks. Had my period. For some odd reason I dropped 2 lbs during my period. After that my body seemed to switch.

Everything I would eat would stay in my lower intestines and my stomach. It turned into several days of cramping and constipations. I would take care of that issue with laxatives and such. Then the next day whatever I ate would stay with me and not digest. And the whole process happens again.

It's been a constant game. I need to eat, but if I eat it just says with me and makes me feel sick. I can't live on laxatives because that is ruining my quality of life having to be home. And even afterwards when I feel better all I have to do is eat and I feel sick again because it just says there.

What a problem this has been. It's been two weeks of this and I have not lost any weight.

Things I have tried to do to fix my system...

Magnesium Citrate Supplements
Digestive Enzyme Supplements
Fiber Choice Probiotic
A prescription from the Dr at my Weightloss Clinic - Reglan (but unfortunately that takes 2 weeks to build up)
Drinking Smooth move teas and herbal teas.
Laxatives - Two different active indredients

I have scoured the internet looking for help, and I know this message board has lots of great people and I'm hoping someone can offer a suggestion. I'd love to get back to eating my 500 calories and back to losing weight. I really do love this diet, but its not liking me right now!

Thanks !!!!

I am not sure what you mean by "stay with you and not digest" Do you mean you wouldn't go to the bathroom afterwards?

My advice would be to stop with mag citrate, digestive enzyme supplements, smooth move teas and any laxatives. Stick with the probiotic only- taken on an empty stomach. Make sure you are drinking enough water, also.

There is a new problem we are beginning to see in patients who take meds for heartburn and reflux- they have trouble digesting food because they have NOT ENOUGH stomach acid to adequately break it down. You might have thrown the balance in your gut off by taking too many bowel preparations.

Eat your meals slowly to give your stomach time to produce digestive enzymes and break down the food. Eat protein with your carbs- protein breaks down into the amino acids our bodies need to make digestive enzymes (meaning don't have ONLY a salad- add some protein to it). Make sure you are doing plenty of walking and moving around also. Most importantly stop taking all of those bowel-aids!

That's exactly what is going on. My body is not digesting my food so I can feel it in my lower intestines and in my stomach. Just like when someone eats a big meal and it sticks with them for a few hours. Mine is like that but for Days.

It's odd I did not have this problem at all. Nor did I take any of that stuff/medication until after this problem started. I never took any digestive aids until after this was a problem and I was in so much pain from not digesting. I would absolutely love to stop taking it. I mean my system was cleaned out and all I ate was fish, asaparagus for lunch and dinner and 1 orange. That caused so much pain for two days. I couldn't even eat the next day because I hurt from that.

It's odd, I have to eat, but if I eat I hurt. I have tried doing nothing and the food stays there. I'm sure it's not enough stomach acid, I'd like to build it back up naturally, but its difficult when you can't really

I went to the store and bought Betaine HCl and take it with meals. I have read that blood type A tends to be low in stomach acid anyway.
