Default I need advice! Not stabilizing...5 weeks into Maintenance
I had a failed steak day that put me over my LDW and then was not eating clean enough because my weight stayed above LDW by about 3-4 lbs. I have started jogging lightly and now am 6 lbs above LDW. I have been eating clean. No fruit, no dairy, no nuts, only veggies, protein, and healthy oils. My weight is not moving. It is not moving up, but sadly it is not moving down either. I really want to stabilize as close to LDW as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions? I considered trying the Atkins Induction plan for a few weeks. (But that includes cheese) I don't want to do another round.

Could it be that you are too low (chosen weight) and your body wants to stabilize at 5-6 lbs above?? Dr. S is very clear that a body will not stabilize if it's under wt. Also, log your calories somewhere, like fitday.com (free). You need to eat enough (above 1200)..but not too much (While charts say I should be eating 2000 cal a day to maintain...I gain at 2000 cal/day. At 1500 -1600 I still lose very slowly. 1800 seems to be my "sweet spot" for maintaining. AND, maybe you actually need some variety ( a little fruit on occasion, some good quality complex carbs once a day in small amounts.). All bodies are different....you may be eating too much protein, and your liver may just need a break.

Those are my ideas. DOn't know if they'll help at all. I KNOW it's frustrating to be SOOO GOOD and find yourself struggling!! Good luck....

How was your P2? How long? Are you confident your dose was correct (did you have lots of hunger)?

I've only done one round and am now doing a clean up round because my weight was drifting upwards the further I got into P4. For me, it was partially due to overeating and I think partially due to the quality of my P2 (some bad advice from the clinic). The reason I think it was partially due to the quality of P2 because even though I could push the weight down with a steak day, it wouldn't stay down even with good P3 eating and watching the number of calories.

It seems as though those who follow the protocol the closest with the fewest cheats (INCLUDING P3) stabilize the best....

Also, along the lines of swimbug's question..are you near your goal weight?

The funny thing is that this was the round where I had No hunger and I am having problems stabilizing. On my first rounf I was hungry for 2 weeks, went longer than 60 days, no cheats except ate an egg every morning and I stabilized effortlessly. This round I followed the protocol to a T and it has been up and down for the last 3 weeks. I NEVER cheat on P2. I don't binge or eat carbs or things not allowed on protocol. I don't know what happened. I am also now 160.8 and 5ft 6.3 so I am considered overweigt according to BMI so I am not too low. I don't know why I can't stabilize. I am frustrated. And angry. I don't know what to do. It seems I am gaining weight without tryng, so whats the use!! A normal weight for me is 130-155. so wha gives??
