Default Need a Womens Advice
Hey,

I'm a single Dad and my daughter and I are doing the diet with each other. Ladies PLEASE help!! We are on VLCD 17 and have both done very well. I don't know how to explain to my 16 yr old why she is gaining right now. Here is what I'm confused about:

VLCD 1 134.5
VLCD 14 124.2
VLCD 15 125.6
VLCD 16 125.0
VLCD 17 127.5 today

She is due for her period today, tomorrow or Monday. Any advice. We haven't changed our protocol at all and I'm still losing. I so appreciate any advice.

Brian

Woman gain water weight at period time. She will gain it for a few days then she will lose it again after. If she don't indulge in off protocol food which is harder on that time of the month, because woman crave alot during it. It is normal that she gained.

Hi, Brian. Just explain to her that it is normal to retain water right before and at the beginning of menses. It will all drop off during TOM (time of month). It isn't real weight gain, just water. Just drink lots and lots of water and it will pass in a few days.

First of all... you are like a very cool Dad! Your daughter is very fortunate to have such a supportive Dad! It is not uncommon to retain water during TOM. Also be sure she is not constipated. If she has stuck to plan, then chances are it will correct itself. My Husband and I are doing this together, and I feel that due to hormonal fluctuations, women's bodies are much more volatile and harder to stabilize than men. Plus Men's metabolisms are much more efficient. I would encourage her to hang in there through TOM and I'd bet it will be fine and she drop a bunch.
