Default Weight loss in the first week
I started a low carb diet loosely based on atkins on Monday. I've been trying to keep my carbs below 20 a day.

Since Monday I have lost 6lbs in weight. I lost 2lbs the first day and then roughly a lb a day after that.

This morning however was the first time the scales stayed the same from the previous day. I know I can't expect to lose 1lb a day forever but it has knocked my confidence a little.

I have been cheating slightly, when I get sugar cravings I've been having the odd peanut m&m or chocolate finger. Yesterday I ate 2 chocolate fingers and 2 m&ms. Surely this small ammount of cheating isn't enough to stall weight loss is it?

Thanks for your reply. I know it was stupid to give in to the chocolate. Chocolate is the one thing I am *really* missing and yesterday I just gave in thinking " a little bit won't hurt" but obviously, a little bit really does hurt on this diet. I realise that now.

So basically, I've been simply "Low carbing" for the past week. Is it too late to go on the proper atkins induction? a waste of time or is it still worth doing?

I've just ordered the book

How do you deal with the cravings? but will power is rubbish. I'm never actually hungry (which is one thing I love about this diet) I just constantly crave chocolate. When will the cravings stop? I could easily do this by the book if it wasn't for the chocolate cravings.

Im not sure about everyone elses thoughts on this, but I personally keep a bag of sugar free candy/ chocolate in the house, when I crave, I eat a piece of candy.

Also the chocolate atkins shakes help me a little as well.

Good Luck
