When I made chicken soup, I didn't count the carbs for the vegetables I used when boiling because you're basically just extracting the flavor of the veggies, not the vegetable solids.

I may be wrong..

I don't know if there's a definitive answer for that... when I looked at different brands of different stocks (chicken, beef, vegetable) I found a wide range of carb counts on all three. It totally depended on the brand. Homemade... if I had to guess... would have the least since you KNOW there's no form of sugar or starch added to it. Could there be carbs? Sure... if the veggies break down enough I'm betting some of the acutal vegetable could be in the stock. But honestly, THAT would be a good thing because it would also put the nutrients, as well as the flavor, into the stock. Miniscule natural carbs that come with nutrition are more easily "disregarded" in my book than carbs that come with NO nutrition (like chemical splenda carbs or starch carbs). But that's my world. lol

I would doubt very seriously that it really has much impact at all. I'm sure you are fine. the chicken stock I buy has zero carbs, but a ton of sodium. I would assume it's made in somewhat of the same way as homemade chicken stock is.

correct me if i'm wrong... but i'm with tril on this one.

I think so too, I just wanted to hear it from you guys.

Alas while I was posting my husband put it all in the food processor and made me cream soup. He's worried about me eating enough while I'm sick.

What stock do you buy? All i can find have 1 carb. I bought the rachel ray beef stock, it doesn't have any.

speaking of food. Does anyone order from a good online place?? I can't find much low carb stuff around here and amazon is pricey.

I like to make my own stock... that way I know what's in it. But if I'm out of it, or I don't have time, I'll buy Swanson's low sodium. I think it has 1 carb per cup. I don't eat manufactured "low carb" products so I can't help with that one... what exactly are you looking for??

ready to eat soups, snacks....
I dunno...something I can eat while I'm sick with as little energy as possible.

but even with the DaVinci syrup, my walmart only carries vanilla in sugar free and it's 3 not 7 like on the website.
I'd just like to browse some where and see what i could get if I wanted...

I googled "low carb products" and found this one. The thing that caught my eye was this:

"$4.95 shipping charge for the entire order within the contiguous 48 United States"
