Default Summer Fun
Yeah, I know, its a cage. Sssssh! ----"don't tell anyone, willya?"

This is my latest project for some Summer Fun. As hot as its been lately, I should stick with the bikes, but every once inawhile I get a hankerin for working on somethin with more than two wheels.

Whether its a bike or a cage, its still an expensive hobby. This one is a work in a progress, but we're getting ready to have our annual car show here, and I am hoping to have it ready two weeks from now for the show.

Nice looking project you got there HD, is that also your ride parked on the street?

.
I am looking at a 50's Willy's jeep to restore. Not sure what direction I am going to take it, fast or off road or both. Probably just off road.

Never been into speed for some reason.

Good job, looks good.

Thanks, Bosco.

The other car is a buddy's that dropped by. I would like to get that one, but he's not parting with it. don't blame him.

Mine is a 1960 T-Bird, but I have customized it to look more like a 57.

Good Luck with your Willys. I have seen a few of those restored as well as a few that have been customized, and they look sweet when they are done.

You did a good job on the T-Bird, do you also race it or just show it?

.
I dont know where you are but have you ever been out to Reno for Hot August Night's? Its a pretty big national event.

Thanks!

I haven't raced it yet, but Sunday of the weekend of the show they open up the drag strip, so I may take her out to see what she'll do. I built the motor up a little, so it has 390hp and I installed a B&M Hammer shifter, I don't expect it to turn great times, but I would like to see what it'll do.

I have heard of the Hot August Night's show in Reno, and I would like to get out there some year, to see it if nothing else. Its quite a distance for me to take anything to, as I am in the midwest, but I would like to at least see it once.

The Reno car show is great, its a big deal around here, then a month later they have Street Vibrations which is a big bike rally.

Reno is a tourist destination, if you come out here, bring lots of money there are casino's and loose women!

Good luck on your time trials. I would be interested to see what you turn.

I have been to Reno once, but it was long ago. I stayed for about a week or so when I was returning home from the service. I wound up winning at one of the casinos, $1200 or so. It wasn't a lot, but it was quite a tidy sum back then.

You know the song that goes "Don't Look Back'?------Haven't returned since. LOL!

Seriously, though I would like to catch the car show and the bike show some time. I usually hit Sturgis, but would like to get to some other shows.
