Default colby info
We have had to put our dog down because of a birth defect. We loved him so much. We want another but would like to have a dog with papers this time. I've often looked at the Colby bloodline but never did anything about it until we lost our boy Cash. I sent an email to him from his site but came back as a bad address. Could someone please help. From what I've read everyone says go to the man himself. Any info would be very much appreciated. We want another to love again.

Just to avoid any confusion. Our previous dog was not a Colby. I didn't want anyone to think anything negative of this breed because of my wording. Sorry if anyone was misled.

I can understand wanting a dog from health-tested parents but why a Colby specifically?

So sorry for your loss,I know thats hard for you.
My hubby has always owned "pitbulls". Pitdogs unless registered are a mixture of breeds,we to wanted something registered so we could trace the lines as far back as they would go and not mention looking for mental stability.Pitbulls here are recognized as American Staffordshire Terriers, AKC recognized. Our boy has a long line of Champion Bloodlines(Benmar,Cirkle C,Woods,Ruffian and Razors Edge)I have to say he is one of the smartest we have owned and very easy to train. We love the bloodlines if we seek another we will seek along these same lines(just our choice). He has very little razors edge, razors edge is what gives him the stockier, shorter build. He is 19 inches tall and 55 to 60 pounds at 10 months old.Good luck on your search.

I'll never own one unless by some freak accident, but to me owning a Colby dog would be like owning a piece of breed history.

I'd honestly stay away from unknown bloodlines (Unpopular) or Razor's Edge unless you know exactly what you are looking for. A lot of Razor's Edge dogs are now American Bullies; not APBT.

Colby is a very nice bloodline. I adore them so much. Also you can look into Boogieman and Boudreaux. They have some nice dogs also.

That doesnt make any sense...razors edge is DNA profiled as an American Staffordshire Terrier..he is of champion lines, they use razors edge in alot of bullie lines to get that stocky build that comes from the razors edge..not the other way around.

Op,Colby dogs were used for the standard for the American Staffordshire Terrier..There are alot of good bloodlines out there that have Champion History.I can go into the AKC data base and research my dogs pedigree back to tacoma lines..1964.Good Luck on your search.

I'm asking why you want a Colby dog specifically, out of all of the APBT bloodlines. It's not an outrageous question. If you only want it for looks, then say so.
