Ok my brother's girlfriend invited me over to her mom's house for her birthday dinner. So i went over there with my 2 yr old daugther, her, and my brother. She has a 4 yr old shephard mix who as soon as we walked in started barking and growling at us i looked over it because i have not been there since last year for her birthday. We move to the kitchen to talk and the dog seemed to get very mad she started to bark and nip at the air. So my brothers girlfriend grabbed her and tryed to distract her from us and she bite her hand!! This story gets better so i go back to my brothers house and he has a purebred german shephard there about 1 yr old which let me remind you i was around her since she was born i use to feed and give water to this everyday, i walked into his room and she bite me on the leg. ok now the thing is that i owe 2 pitbulls and i sleep with them every single night and i have never had them bark nip bite or anything at anyone. My 2yr old's best friend is my 9 month old red nose pit. So maybe we should look at the dog it self not the breed!!

I've had Chihuahuas bite me, all the Pit Bulls I've ever owned never dared try to even nip at me (when they were puppies they chewed on my hand hehehe). Only time I can think of when a Pit Bull in my house hold ever attacked someone was my nephew.....But he got attacked by kisses and licking! My female licked his face for so long his entire face was red! This was when my nephew was sleeping and he was like 1yr old!

Yep exactly the problem we face.
Now if you ask non-experienced, idiot, know-it-all types (like DB.org) they'll tell you it's because your mean, visious, evil pitbulls just haven't "turned" on you yet. Personally my sweet, sweet Star-girl has been gone over 2 years now (rainbow bridge), and I'm STILL waiting for her to turn on me!!! (moronic people) |

Couple things:
You didn't specify so I wanted to be sure that you know that Razors Edge is not an American Pit Bull Terrier bloodline, but rather an American Bully bloodline. I wouldn't recommend the breed to just anyone. In fact, I'm sure that most here wouldn't. Not everyone can handle a breed that doesn't generally get along well with other animals. Not everyone can handle and embrace what the pit bull's history truly was. Not everyone can live a happy, healthy life with their pit bull (or mix or not at all) while still allowing the dog to be a dog. Lastly, I'm not sure why you bumped a 3-year-old thread. |

There is much to be said here, (A.) All dogs have the capability to bite and (B.) Most of the time when you have "socialiszed dogs" and they bite or nip there are issues within the ownership or household that cuases this nervousness or acting out. I have owned Pit Bulls for a long time now and now have a very beautifull blue razors edge who now has taken the cake when speaking of all around goofball. He has only became cautious once and my friend had a hood on his head and mask as we were outside stacking wood,,I think any dog would have freaked on that one. But I would recomend this breed to anyone with the capability of ownership, They are a strong breed and need exercise and socializing but even if you adopt from rescues the majority of the time the dogs bounce right back from the treatment the idiot owner put it through,,,,I can make any dog want to chew through your ass,,no matter what breed it is. I always make it a point with any dog owner to never leave dogs unattended with kids,,you idiots need to see a doctor too!!!,,remember the only way a dog can say stop is with his teeth, make no mistake, i trust my Simon around my kids all day long, but im never going to leave them alone with him...simply put,,,I cant say as I personally have ever encountered a "mean" pit, I have encountered dumb ass people with pits,,
