Default Barking
So maximus has come into his barking stage @ 4 months, I don't mind it he barks when someone knocks at the door and as soon as he realizes that it isn't a scary monster but a person he trys to kiss them to death. Unfrotunatly he can't tell the difference between people actually knocking and the TV, so he'll bark his little head off at the TV till it stops. Just wanted to know how many other dogs are wierd like mine lol

lol, I can remember every one of my puppies going through that at some point or another. Even Jake, who we rescued at 9 months, went through this shortly after we got him. Thank goodness they eventually figure it out.

Mine will sometimes bark at the kids playing upstairs because some of the sounds they make could be mistaken for a knock on the door. They also sometimes bark at the TV if there is a loud door knocking sound.

The worst was/is Owen. He is "The Informer". Once he learned how to bark he would dance around peoples feet and bark whenever anyone entered the house...even just the kids or hubby coming home. Just dancing around the ankles, looking at the adult that has been home all day, and barking his fool head off. Turns out, he just wanted us to acknowledge the new arrival. Once we tell him "Thank you, I see the new person." he will stfu.

He always waits for the other 3 to go out the door before he goes and he stands by the door when everyone comes in to make sure no one is lost or something. When another dog is outside without him, like when he is done going potty and another dog is taking a bit longer, he will sniff and woo woo or bark by the door until said other dog is in the house or he is back outside.

Ugh barking I hate it! Cricket barks when someone on the TV knocks or someone puts a glass down too hard. What's really great is when you are sound asleep and she is laying by you and she takes off like a shot barking ferociously at........................................... nothing.
