I was waiting for it to be official before I announced it, in case we counted points wrong

And now it is!!!!

In just 12 hunts his first season out (5 LESS hunts than the top contending hounds ran this season), Bukra racked up 295 points (20 points ahead of the #2 dog) and achieved the #1 ALL BREEDS spot in NOFCA!
Not to mention - the #2 dog ALL BREEDS is Bukra's sister/littermate, LeeLee!!!!

It all came down to THE very last hunt of the season - of course! Had to make us sweat a lil! LOL

When Bukra went unsighted and didn't place at all (for the first time this season!), I thought for sure top contender Cymba (a whippet) was going to steal the #1 spot... but luck wasn't on her side in her hunt, either, and Bukra remained on top!

I could not be ANY prouder of my boy! He ran his ass off this season, and has made quite a name for himself. His breeder is especially ecstatic... for her, Bukra makes the 3rd generation of her line to achieve #1 All Breeds - starting with his grandsire, then his sire, and now him! (other dogs in her line have, as well... but Darius [the grandsire] was incredibly special to her, so dogs off him are her pride and joy).

Congrats Bukra!!. You must be extremely proud. Will Bukra be bred at one stage?. I've wondered this since he's doing so great and the breeders happy with him.

It's funny how it all worked out... I spoke with his breeder for years, waiting for the "right time" for a pup. When I moved back to California, she told me - "I have your puppy!"... And he's the exact opposite of the criteria I wanted! But he's absolutely perfect for me, and it just an all around amazing dog... I'm so lucky to have him!
