I am going insane right now lol! I need some advice from people with hard headed dogs, Tyson is driving me up the wall. When I brought him inside lastnight it was a whine fest. It was so bad Ryan had to take him to bed with him so I could have peace with Hazel.

She did amazing, this is the first time in my life a dog has not been kenneled while we slept and she stayed in her bed by me the whole time .

Ryan just left for work and he has been in his crate howling ever since he came out here, I've never had to deal with this, and have strongly considered making him an outside dog, but not sure how to go about it in the middle of winter and am afraid it is too cold to transition him, any ideas?

Ps, giving him a Kong, or something related, won't work. He is a spiteful and hardheaded and will just whine/pee/poop in there all day unless I let him out since he knows she is here :P

Holy cuteness overload she is adorable! I hope you are going to hang around and post more pictures. I've missed Tyson pics and this new girl is beautiful!

I would say that name changing shouldn't be a problem.

Theoretically, Tyson could catch kennel cough by being in the same house, but most healthy adult dogs that aren't stressed out are fairly good about not picking it up. I would just wash my hands between interacting with each dog.

Tyson sounds like a character. Have you tried putting a sheet over his crate and turning on some music? Does he do any better if he goes in there after a long run?

Tyson is probably the most hard headed dog I have ever met in my entire life lol. He got worn out this morning, and he still freaked out, I even silently gave her attention with him on the other side of the house and he knew haha.

She had a vet visit earlier, they say it isn't kennel cough, I just don't believe that, it was a vet they use, not my vet, I am thinking about taking her to my vet for a second opinion.

Congrats! She is pretty and looks very happy to be in your home!
I have to agree with changing the name- I changed Freida's name when I got her at about 3 years. I'm pretty sure she'll respond to anything tho!
Also she has (in my opinion) larger girl parts and nipples too. My vet said it might be from having puppies or it's just the way she is!

She's a beauty! Some females have naturally bigger vulva than others, especially if they have had multiple heat cycles or given birth. Hard to tell if she is going into heat without knowing what she normally looks like down there. I'd keep an eye out for discharge and keep her leashed and always supervised just in case.

Congratulations!!!!

KC is like a "cold" to us. and you might want to keep her in one area away from other pets, they WILL get it, its HIGHLY contagious.

Her name is Millie and has been since she was born, the story they got was it was the kids responsibility to take care of the dog and the parents ended up doing it and she just had a baby and couldn't handle her so they surrendered her, she is about 4 years old, weighs about 35-40lbs, quite short and I have no idea what she is mixed with but she is gorgeous! Her legs look good and teeth look good and she is all around really healthy!

Lovely girl! She doesn't look in season to me... just like an intact dog who HAS been through seasons.

Also, kennel cough IS a doggie cold You can treat it with medication, but it doesn't do any more good than just giving Vitamin C and let it run its course... unless it's severe enough to where they are trying to prevent pneumonia or something potentially really bad.

Yes, nice girl!!
and Yes! you can change her name! the last dog I absorbed into my pack was a little, 11+ year old toy fox terrier who was named "Dinkus". Which means something like idiot or ass wipe in German.
So when my husband got home(he's the dog namer) I held up the old dog and ask my Hubby "What's his name?" He said "Larry!" So Larry it is and it took 3 days for him to learn
I like the name Hazel ")

I think her ninnies are swollen cause she might be comng into heat. Some females do that and others dont......
She is a BEAUTIFUL girl!
When I got Rita she'd had a few heats and had a couple with me due to us having to wait for her spay until she was off her meds. Her nipples and vulva always look like Millie's. I kinda hate the look of it, but what can ya do?

Congrats. She is really pretty. I change names all the times with fosters and even my permanent dogs. I mean last year I took a dog in named Christmas. That didn't work, so we changed it to Neva. She picked it up in no time and she was around 4 yrs old.

So shes intact and from a shelter?
Was it a privately owned shelter, because I have never been to a shelter be it an SPCA/HS or even private ones...that dont spay and neuter, thats crazy since they have no clue if someone bought the dog just to breed as a purebred ya know?
But at least she has a responsible owner!! She is a gorgeous dog no doubt, congrats!!
