IDK if you have it where you are,but Odoban works really well for the smell.

Could you get puppy pee pads and set up a controlled area he can relieve himself, or is it completely out of his control?

I'm so glad I posted this thread now. I got some good info. |
when you set up a pee pad, make sure you take a paper towel with his pee on it and rub it on the pad, this will help him know that he is supposed to pee on it, you wont have to do it every time but a few times should help. I use natures metrical and paper towels to clean up pee/poop since it takes the amonia up too and helps make is so the dog wont pee there again because they smell there pee

We had an old dog that peed . she was given pills to help too, she just peed in her sleep so it was just a matter of putting her bedding (old duvets) through the washing machine.

Is your dog doing this because she/he isn't housetrained? The dog should be on a stricter schedule.
In a crate all day minus schedule play time and potty breaks. This way if the dog has an accident chances are it's in the hard bottom kennel. When housetraining every 2 hours I say "let's go potty!" and take them outside. I also have my dogs on a water schedule. They get water AFTER they go pee. Usually 1-2 cups every hour or two throughout the day depending on how active they are that day. ---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:38 PM ---------- OHshoot forgot to say... I use a product called OUT!, works like magic for us on carpet. We use cut up sweatshirts and then rinse them in hot water and then throw em in with a load of towels. |

These also work great for soaking up accidents. We had some for Rosie because she would occassionally leak in the car. I didn't want Frankie using them, but they work great for absorbing wet spots. After I get up most of the moisture, I use a spray carpet cleaner and work that it. Works great. |

I would recommend a belly band with a feminine pad on it or a doggie diaper with a pad. Sounds gay, but it willsave you SO much time and rags lol. I had a dog who wet the bed in her sleep and I made a diaper out of a huge bandana... Save me a lot of stress and irritation of constantly washing bedding, rags, carpet etc! http://www.pitbull-chat.com/images/smilies/smile.png
---------- Post added at 10:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:22 PM ---------- Her problem was medical too and medication didn't help much I'll post a pic of the diaper. |
Thanks. I'll have a look into them. It may help till we find out what's up with him. I don't think tablets will fix the problem though I'm hoping they will.
How much pee would a belly band/doggy diaper absorb though?. |
Poor guy. Hope he gets better soon.
For big spills I usually use my little bissel carpet cleaner to suck up the mess and then use the cleaner. |
