We have a 4 year old golden retriever cross, and a 4 month old APBT.

My dad believes that the cheap food is fine and calls it a good diet, I want to have them over on a better brand (I was looking into canidae) but would love some facts to back it up other than physical appearences. What does a better diet do for the dog health wise?

I've convinced him to move my ferrets onto raw, so I'm sure this won't be too hard. I'll be paying for their food in a few weeks so either way should be fine.
