Default Vet wants to neuter my dog because he has a UTI
Im currently giving my dog a antibiotic for his UTI. I dont plan on breeding him, or fixing him just because i rather have my dog intact. Is their anything that i can do for him? Ill be making the decision to fix... S.O.B him after this week. I took him in because he is ejaculating red/bloody semen when he is asleep in my room. Wtf this never happened to any of my dogs before. Although they did get UTI's because they were intact. My oldest dog got fixed when he was 7. What should i do? Any suggestions?

I don't know much and some others may chime in in case I am wrong...but I think the Vet generally knows best and is right if she/he thinks you should fix him.

Uh, if my one intact dog was ejaculating bloody semen in his sleep, yeah, I'd go with the vet's advice.

I've never heard of anything like this, but if my dog were "ejaculating red/bloody semen" and the vet suggested a neuter I think I would go with that advice providing the vet explained to me exactly what the problem was and why a neuter would be a cure and/or prevent a repeat of the problem.

I agree with the above. You might see another vet for a second opinion, but that sounds serious and not something to ignore the vet's advice about.

Yeah ditto that. We had a barn dog that was doing that once (it was more like peeing/dripping blood) and the vet advised my barn owner to neuter him ASAP. Turned out that he had testicular cancer, so neutering was the best option available.

Well (and my Diesel is not fixed) if this is a sign of testicular cancer and it is caught in time before it spreads...I think Diesel would rather live without the boys than die with them.
