Default when is my pups head gonna split/pop?
ok so i tried to post this already, but i dont know if it posted. my pup is almost 4 months and i want to know when her head is gonna pop/split. i know it happens when their head matures but what age is that? her teeth are starting to fall out and her new teeth are growing back. so her head should get bigger to make room for her teeth right?

What? You think your dogs head is going to pop? Are you asking if it will get larger? She's a puppy, of course her head will get bigger, kind of like the rest of her.

umm, why are you worried about her head growing?

as long as she is healthy and a normal growing dog her head will grow with the rest of her, it will not "pop".

Oh it posted.. and got taken down I'm assuming LOL.

Dogs head don't "split".. I mean c'mon, think about that logically for a second.. how would the dog survive if its head split??

Stop worrying about your dogs head size. It'll grow when it grows.

wow! im not talking about the skull. im talking about when the muscles in the skull develop and have the line down the middle. kinda the source of the terminology of split. pop is another term people use. she is healthy though if she were sick or something id be asking a question about what is wrong. thanks for your helpful answers.......

All dogs are individuals and a lot depends on genetics but generally the pup will have an adult head at about one year of age and a fully matured structure at 2-3 years. Chew toys and bones will help build the muscle "break" you're talking about.

okay that is a little differnt if you are talking about muscles. muscles in her head will form with exercise. you can give her chew toys for now to work on chewing builds a lot of muscle.

how old is she? 4 months? I would give her raw bones (NOT WEIGHT BEARRING) to help strengthen her muscles, like raw ribs and such but make sure you watch her so you know she does not swallow them hole

stop worrying about your puppies muscles. please. your puppy doesnt need gigantic muscles. worry bout that when theyre well over a year old.

no one we know has ever used those words which is why you got those answers.

do not boil bones, cooked bones can splinter, raw is best, raw meat is better than cooked also just so you know, the cooking process in meat takes away nutrients

Don't boil the bones. Cooked bones are NOT good at all. They splinter and may hurt the digestive system. Smoked bones like Merricks and others you find in pet stores seem to be okay (that's what I use ... Merricks "Sarge") ... but there are lots of semi hard non-bone chew toys. I'm sure if you go to a GOOD local pet store (not Walmart) and speak with them, they can show you several products to choose from.

Some dogs are super heavy chewers and it's common for them to break teeth on bones and antlers. That's why I would maybe consider going with durable rubber toys for some dogs. It just depends. Mine are fine with bones, others aren't.
