Default Craigslist Forum Thread
I was looking on the Pet Forums on Craiglist and came across this thread, the idiot OP is stating why he thinks his city should ban pit bulls. What really entertained me though was when I kept reading and he was defending the "fact" that a pitbull's jaws lock because they were originally bred to carry bison!! WTF?

"The other view: You're retarded"

---------- Post added at 07:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:20 PM ----------

Dude, I am getting some serious lulz from this..

"Somehow I can't picture an indian tiptoeing around the prairie with a herd of thirty or forty pit bulls."

"pits are not native"

"Then where in the hell are all these bison coming from?
Most bison were dead by the time APBTs were established as a breed."

And I now want to paint a scene of a bunch of Indians, hunting bison with their pit bulls. It will be done.

I'm pretty sure she is not getting a valid argument, because she doesn't have a valid argument herself. I got a good laugh from it tho.

No no, remember the dog goes out and brings the bison back to them. lol. I was bored so I decided to make that, but I am not so good at that photo rendering stuff. I dont even have photoshop. Either way, was not trying to make it believable :P

Lol I was actually there for that thread. I stopped dead though when he said about bison because where the heck does a person hear that from!?!? No wonder there's mass hestiera (sp?) in the public because people are so dumb.

BTW very nice pictures L.B. and C.H.J., those made me giggle

Thank you!

I really do wonder where he got that from. I mean I even tried Googling it to see if that is a notable belief amongst people and I turned up with nothing...

That was the very first time I have even heard something like that mentioned. Of all the hair brained ideas people have that hits a new high (or low )

The only thing I can think of is that he heard about the history with bulls and got that twisted

The entire thread was entertaining. Once the OP realized that there were intelligent people on the forum, their story quickly changed to, "I wasn't talking about ALL pit bulls, I was talking about the ones in my city."

I guess the pit bulls in hthe OP's city are the rare jaw-locking, Bison-hunting pit bulls. If only the Native Americans would have known.

I knew it was the Native American blood in me that made me love bulldogs!

Oh that is simply awesome... that's the first time I've heard that... Thank you for sharing.

There is a woman on there now that breeds German Shepherds and said that a breeder that owned the stud they had planned on breeding their female to called and said her stud had been diagnosed with EPI. She said the stud owner said she'd find a "replacement sire" if the female owner didn't feel comfortable using her stud.

EPI is a genetic disease. Whether it's congenital or not is still debated. Why would you continue to breed a dog with a KNOWN and DIAGNOSED genetic disease?

The female owner was saying how grateful she was that the stud owner was honest with her and "thank God for responsible breeders."

I agree with a few of the other people - it's not really being a responsible breeder if you continue using a dog for breeding with a known genetic health issue :\
