I wanted to do that with Ike sooo bad. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the temperament for it. He's just too nice for lack of a better way to explain it. It was hard to find a club willing to evaluate him. So many within a few hour drive of me think AB's aren't suitable for the training because they have a hard time letting go . Like training couldn't overcome that. Some of the PP and Schutzhund clubs are just breed snobs.
And who is the AB? He's sexy!!!! |

That APBT is actually an Am Staff named Hummer. Good dog though! MJJean, where are you located in Michigan? Are you close to Illinois? ---------- Post added at 07:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:35 AM ---------- Sorry can't edit. Hummer is blue with cropped ears. |

Questions:
The first dog that goes (the GSD) is constantly looking back at the handler and whining. In this situation, what should he be doing as far as eye contact is concerned (handler, decoy or back and forth) and is the whining discouraged or does it not matter? What is the piece of equipment called that they are using with the young GSD at around 7:15? |

Questions: The GSD has probably learned to rely on his handler for direction. As far as eye contact...depends on the trainer, the handler and what they are wanting to accomplish with the dog. Every situation and training is different. |
