Default Why do..
Dogs turn around and put their butts on your feet?

I remember reading somewhere what it was all about but I cant remember now..

Bear does it, he will bring me his seahorse toy, and rub it on my foot, then turn around and rub/sit his but on my foot

Then he looks back at me like I am supposed to know what he is doing..

Or sometimes he will do the rub/sit on my BF's foot, and then stands over his leg/foot kind of.. My BF asked me what it was all about and why he was doing it, but I cant remember and its bugging me..

Roxie sits on my feet all the time. And if I'm sitting down, she'll come over and plop her ass right in my lap. She also enjoys stepping on my feet and "holding me there".

Maybe because we are warmer than the floor?

No he isnt like sitting on it to keep his butt off the floor, its like he is rubbing his butt on me trying to get attention or is trying to tell me something but I dont know what lol

He usually has his toy in his mouth and then will flip around and push his butt at you.

And no our feet dont smell lol

Hm.. I don't know if there are other reasons, but the only dogs of mine who do it are the ones who like to be close and love physical contact. The closer they can be, the better.

I will try and get a picture or video of him doing it, its odd. Its like if your dog was nudging you with his face to get your attention.. but its his butt

Izzy always did it because she wanted me to scratch her "butt" (the area where back turns into tail)

Gambit doesn't rub my feet but he will lay on them, especially when I'm on the computer. I've always chalked it up to him being a clingy dog.

Ive heard before its dominance. But Harley does it when he wants attention. If someone comes over and doesnt say hi to him first thing (which I tell people not to do, they cant acknowledge him until he calms down otherwise he jumps on peope) so in his attempt to get attention ASAP he will flop down on top of who evers feet and roll belly up and just lay there really still (trying to pretend hes calmed down). Sadly if Im not around it suckers everyone in and he lays there while they rub his belly but as soon as they stop he shoots up (typically knocking them in the face with his block head) and tries to lick their face before they know what happened. He doesnt do it out of dominance at all, just to get attention because he knows it works.

Mines does it when he is unsure of something. He would come and sit on my feet as if asking for re-assurance.

Ike does it when the spot where tail meets butt itches and he wants scratchings or when he wants to keep you where you are, lean against your leg and remind you to properly worship his wonderful Bulldogginess. He only does it to people he particularly likes.
