if you want to breed him, why do you have to go outside of his current registry?

my questions would be... why do you want to breed him?

The UKC recognizes ADBA. You should be able to dual register him now.

But Obed poses a very pertinant question.

EVERYbody breeds their pit bull...(and not all should).

Since everybody and his brother breeds their pit bull, there are TONS of pit bulls all over the place.

Just take a trip to your shelter and have a look.

Why would you want to make more of a commodity that is already in overabundance?

Post some pics of the dog. Maybe you'd enjoy getting into the show circuit or even competing in a sport like agility, flyball, schutzhund, dock diving, etc.

If you can get active in one or more of these things, and get the dog titled in something...then you have proven your dog to be better than all the rest of the nobodies with average dogs that pump out litter after litter of "nobody" dogs that just wind up in the shelter or in the hands of owners who insist on breeding them to produce more sub par dogs. (Holy run-on sentance, Batman!)

Anyway...these things are not hard to do and can be a lot of fun. Plus...bragging rights, yo.

Please don't breed your dog. Too many people do, most of them end up in a shelter and dead. It isn't worth it.

I dont breed my dog to any and every female thats "in season." I do have standards for my dog. I also dont breed with aggressive dogs. All litters I sell have to have at least 10 buyers before the breeding takes place. And all puppies are sold on strict contracts that give me visitation rights to make sure the puppies are in good health and not mistreated.

no i havent breed him. i bred his mother only twice and then she had an emergency c-section so she had her uterus removed. all those puppies were sold on contract and i keep in touch with all the owners of those puppies on a regular basis.
