The vet just called and told me I could come get GG...
the vet says that the dog does not know she had surgery, is showing no signs of pains, is eating well... smiling at everyone and is one sweet attention whore... she told me to come get the dog as the dog has all the employees petting her and she needs to get them back to work... they are too busy playing with my dog... sounds like GG to me.... |

after she got shot several month ago there has been a continuing infection and seepage... the vets have tried several anti-biotics but none have been able to deal with it... and the vet was afraid that sooner or later the infection would kill her.. so the vet sent me to a specialist...
they did more xrays and did a dye injection and they believe that they found the fragment(s) that is causing the problem.. so now she is in surgery having the fragment removed... let us just hope this does it.... the surgery is expensive but not as bad as it could be, and if the 4 thousand does the job.. well worth it to me... |

the vet knew that there were bullet fragments there, but from what my vet said and what the surgeon said, bullet fragments themselves are not usually a problem... the anti-biotics normally take care of any infection and the muscle heals around the fragments....
but this did not happen in GG's case, so they suspected some hair or other substance got carried in with the bullet... I just heard from the surgeon and the surgery is done... they found a piece of plastic and some hair in the wound....the surgeon said GG is doing fine and they think they got it all, she said she feels good about it, but can not guarantee that there will be no further issues, she does not think so, but can not say for sure, but hell, when can they say that.... they will keep her overnight and call me in the morning and tell me if she can come home or if they need to keep her longer... |
