Ok, so we have recently seen so many "fighting ring" bust, and people accused of doing things illegal with dogs. I would like to see, on average, how many of the materials that are indicitive of "dogfighting" regular pet owners, breeders, kennels, etc have on hand. Here is a list, I know I personally own quite a few. Add as needed! Wouldn't it be ideal if we could educate people more, and show that it's ok to own these things as a RESPONSIBLE pet owner?
Treadmill antibiotics iv fluids breakstick vaccines steroids (for allergies, such as depomedrol, vetalog, prednisone etc) syringes IV catheters, setups flirt pole spring pole swim tank chain spot weight pull harness a scar on your dog originating from an accident injectable vitamins (such as vitamin B or Vitamin K) Lassixs Pain killers (aspirin, rimadyl, maybe even injectables) Jenny mill Gauze/Bandages weighted collar weighted harness a conditioned dog Anyway, I think you guys get my point. All of the above are used by owners of EVERY breed, not just APBT owners but for some reason APBT owners must take caution in owning them because of the public outlook. How many items do you own?? |

I wouldn't know how to administer IV atb's/fluids or vaccines. Funny cuz I work in a medical office but don't do anything clinical. I have administered subq fluids when my GSD mix, Layla, needed them during her last few days
---------- Post added at 08:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ---------- Oh and my vet is a 24 hr emergency hospital and is 10 minutes from my home. I could get them there quicker than doing anything myself and have. Maybe thats' the difference for some people? They don't have that option for 24 hr medical care at their disposal? |

Or they come home to the dog barely breathing heart beat unsteady and eyes glazing over... don't have ten min. gotta do something now.
---------- Post added at 08:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 PM ---------- Friend of mine lives about forty five min. fast driving to the nearest vet, came home to a dog that was in a yard wreck loose dog was tied up to a female and the dog that was still on the chain was wrapped up in it and almost dead. If he hadn't had "dog fighing meds" on hand that dog would have died. |
