Default The differences ?
Hi all,

After browsing this forum i have become more confused than i was before i started

I do not wish to cause an arguement between the different "camps", but could people please post pictures of what they think are good examples of APBT, Am Staffs, and Am Bullies ? Since joining i have read numerous threads and am still none the wiser

It would be great if people could post a picture of each, so that i don't end up with a whole thread of one or the other and still not understand the difference.

As i said i am not wishing to start a row, just trying to learn.

It will also be good to see how different peoples interpretation is of each..

Thanks in advance

Check THIS thread out

http://www.pitbull-chat.com/showthre...ual+comparison

ADBA Dog = What many consider a TRUE APBT

UKC Dog = 'Show' APBT...leaning towards AmStaff

AKC Dog = AmStaff

AmBully is not pictured...but you can compare the above dogs to pics in the bully section here and you should notice that the bullies are 'heavier' dogs in general (bone structure, etc.)

American Pit Bull Terrier, bred for performance

American Staffordshire Terrier, bred for looks/show

American Bully, bred for who knows what since there are already Am Staffs and it seems the original intent was to breed a ''watered down'' pit bull with less dog aggression. They just seem like over exaggerated Am Staffs to me. That's my take on it anyway.

And congratulations!! You are the winner of my second "laugh out loud" of the day!!

Good post Zoe, excellent pictures, although I have to admit, the AmStaff always looks like the APBT, maybe just "thicker".... and maybe that's the difference. Of course, I can always pick out the AmBullies, and the Bull Terriers, they are the easy ones.

Yeah, I always think of it as the Amstaff having thicker bone or thicker muscle, where the APBT has more lean muscle. However, there are times when Amstaffs and APBT are hard if near impossible to tell the difference.

I always think of AmStaffs as a stylized version of APBT. They all look the same to me, just in different colors! lol Where APBT's vary alot in appearance but don't look so ''fake''. lol I remember in my early years of learning about the breeds, I was much more drawn to the varied look of APBT and honestly, the ''perfect'' look of the AmStaffs kinda creeped me out. Like Stepford dogs or something.
