 Just got a knock on the door from animal control
So, I must say that I am so pissed off right now I cannot move. Animal Control just knocked on my door. Asking to see my "skinny" Pit Bull. Now keep in mind, all of the people in my neighborhood are older. And there is always this one lady that walks down the street really slow by my house when I have the dogs out front. Anywho, she plays with Destiny and says I do not see anything wrong. But maam, you are not supposed to be able to FEEL her ribs when you press, I said excuse me if you think I am rude, but are you a MORON? You are supposed to SEE them. She is a little chunky right now. I said I was like you, 1 year ago, I would see them and say wow that one is underweight, not anymore.
I went on to explain all of the ambullies and amstaffs to the best of my knowledge, as well as hopping online to show her pictures. I said if you see an APBT you will be able to tell the difference between that dog and some of the monsters around here. She said maam I know you have rescued a few strays for us and are a good person, I am just doing my job. I am going to go now, I will close this case, have a good day. I am SOOOO pissed right now, to the point where tomorrow I will probably take Destiny for a walk and go to everyone's house in my neighborhood to ask questions, sorry, but its what I feel I need to do. Have any of you ever had this happen, and would you be upset as well? |

this used to happen to my grandfather on a weekly basis when he kept dogs conditioned for ADBA shows if i were you i would print out copies of the ADBA and the UKC breed standards to keep on hand for situations like that

I wish I would have been more prepared for this, she was in my house, playing with her, but wrote nothing. I have dealt with them before, 2 other times, when I brought strays here, got rid of fleas and ticks, gave them baths fed them and gave them to them to find a forever home. So she knows me pretty good. She said she is going back to the office to close the report. Next time I know now though, thanks so much

Probably best to let it die quietly... I may be beating a dead horse, but doesn't this seem like a sign to wait until the next litter to get your puppy? Breeders should be able to hold your deposit until you are ready, that would be what's best for the dog...

I just found out who did it. I called my husband furious, he just called me back, and apparently Kristi's Myspace (the neglectful mother) has, "you will get what you deserve TRUST me, you fuck with me, I fuck with you" on it. I have no worries. Just reported this to the animal control officer and she confirmed it was her. She is going to speak to the police about giving false information type of thing. Like seriously, are we in high school? I was reporting her to CPS because I fear for her kids, she makes a false statement because she is pissed off.
And no, I will not wait until the next breeding, another reason is she only breeds every 3 years, and I seriously do not think we are waiting 3 years. |

I am not quite sure what they can do. But from what the AC told me, it is very illegal to lie about anything in any type of investigation whatsoever, so it looks like things may end up alot worse for her and she is digging herself in pretty deep to a hole she might not be able to get out of
 That just really makes me mad that I did not think of that, because I remember the second I met her for the first time, Destiny went running up to greet her and she said, WOW, that Pit Bull is skinny. |

Yea, she seem nice. She just stares, I am not sure if she is "scared" of Destiny or what. The only thing she has ever said to me, while walking sort of fast was, "How much does that dog weigh?" That is why I thought of her, but she is very elderly so she may have been scared. When I originally made that post, I was really upset, because I know pretty much everyone around here, my grandparents basically built every house in this neighborhood back in the 60s or 70s and all of the same people that bought the homes from them still live here. And now my grandmother is no longer here and I live here, so I sorta grew up around these people. But at least I know who it was and I do not have to worry about nosy neighbors

Yeah, I think there is a lesson for you here about being too quick to judge, maybe ...
And also in your spat with the beeyatch who did complain, I hope you can just step back and take the high road. I did read most of the threads in Chit-Chat and of course she is in the wrong with her kids, but you did what you had to do there (at this point) and that is a case for the child-protection people now. It does seem to me you have engaged her too much in the dramatic combat. NOT that it is your fault, but just ... try to be the calm reasonable one who takes the high road now. There is no need (and never was) for you to engage in texts w/her making accusations, exchanging profaniies etc ... the whole thing sounded more like a Jerry Springer episode than anything. Make it easy on the authorities. BE the good guy that you are here. Just a whole bunch of unsolicited advice.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is walk away from it all. Keeping calm and on a low profile is much better for you and your dogs than to keep AC's attention engaged in drama focused on your animals. Some how, some way, it will bite you in the tush.

Yea I am done with it, she said she has caused more trouble than she might be able to handle now. She told me to stay out of it from now on. And then she commented on how pretty and loveable my girl is
 She has a new outlook on PitBulls and knows they are not all bad now. I can imagine the things she has dealt with before, so I am happy about that
