Yea, I try to take Tanner every where we go and let him meet as many people as possible so when he gets bigger he will still have that love of meeting people... all we can do is change peoples minds one at a time, I know I had some anti pit bull fans in my own family that after being around my dogs and my cousins has fallen in love with the breed.

I have shirts as well that say "Bullsh*t Legislation" and it's got an up-to-date list of all the places where BSL is enacted on the back. Talk about a conversation starter! I've also got a shirt that says "Ban stupid owners, not dogs".
However, it goes beyond that. I attend city council meetings in an effort to be heard. I've sent out a book of letters about BSL and what happened to my dog to many council members and state senators. I've sent letters regularly, even if the topic isn't currently being discussed in the current proposed legislation. The time to fight is BEFORE the fight gets to your hometown. Make yourself be heard. Attempt to educate those BEFORE the lies and myths of "why BSL is good for us" rain down on your city. |
