Default iPad Launched!!
For those that haven't seen the future of home computing yet, check it out at Apple

A review:
Apple iPad: the wait is over – but is it future of media or oversized phone? | Technology | The Guardian

my own personal take is that this is what home machines will be like for most people. I know so many people that have bought really cheap netbooks or other under-spec PC laptops with tiny screens, clunky Windows, tacky plastic cases and all they use it for is web surfing and email. This gives them that, plus so much more for cheaper and with probably one of the best user experiences on the planet.

I can't wait to get one

thought it was a fail imo, it has no camera, no USB ports, no SD card slot Flash support and no multitasking

I know some people saying the same. If you want all that, the point is you should get a laptop - this machine is there to fill the void that netbooks failed to do.

I won't waste my money. It also can't multitask. Only one application can be open at a time.

Fail, Apple products are always overpriced. For 500 bucks you can get a laptop or netbook that kills that thing.

Exactly what laptop or netbook? I'd love to see one that has:

a) that incredible user experience

b) that quality of build & design

c) that quality of OS

d) the convenience of the size, build and the touch screen interface.

If all you want is a gimmick then sure get it, but I prefer an actual pc to a tablet that is basically a glorified iphone.

No usb port is a fail to me, no way to add more memory or space? fail as well. .I personally don't give a hoot about apple products so design and "unique interface" don't mean crap to me either. I prefer my books in paper form rather then electronic so I don't care about that either.. Plus my bias for apple products means that I don't like it period. .Obviously this is all my opinion and I'm not trying to say it's fact. You can love it all you want but as far as I'm concerned Apple is a rip off on everything they do.

My laptop was 699.99 when I bought it 4 months ago. Here's the specs

toshiba satellite 17"

2.10 ghz processor
intel centrino dual core
4 gig ram (upgradeable to 8)
500 gig hdd
harman/kardon speakers
touch static media bar button thingies
full 10 key
illuminated keyboard and a slick black finish
built in camera/microphone
3 usb ports
hdmi out

show me a mac that has all that that's anywhere near that price. .and satellites are excellent laptops.

I bought a Dell in December with a better processor than that for $500

What other specs though? I did my research and the satellite is the best I found for money and quality.

could've got a comparable xps but it was a 14" and had less memory and hdd space.

I do have an iPhone and love it for its usefulness for tons of things. However, the iPad left me distinctly underwhelmed.

Perhaps when the next version or two comes about it may actually be revolutionary rather than just evolutionary.

iPad sucks, iPod sucks, iPhone sucks, imac sucks, iDiots who use mac products suck. sucks suck suck.
Yep if you are mac fan then you suck so bad you suck monkey balls.

Mac is never a first in anything. Fact: Mac is a company very good at marketing and fooling customers into thinking they are the first one to come out with various technologies when in reality they all have been around and just hasn't been properly marketed yet until they started doing so.

Examples:
Mac - dual boot, 2 or more OS in one system (only started with their intel based macs)
PC - always could do dual boot.

Mac - only came out with mp3 players years after bunch of other technology companies already been selling them. people started buying iPods only because they look like skittles
PC - been there done that, just horrible outer shell design.

Mac - 3G - you had to wait for their phone #2.
Samsung and HTC - had 3G phones even before apple came out with their 1st iPhone which still was not 3G

Mac - For very long time still only had 1 button mouse.
PC - always had multiple buttons and allowed quick access via mouse clicks

Mac - computers with builtin computer screen - came out in 1998.
PC - Osborne 1 - The First Portable Computer from 1981 one of the first to come out with system with builtin screen.

Mac - pretty? only if you are a chick or gay.
PC - pretty sure, there are choices choices. - and it also is very smart inside.

Mac - every little part and accessories cost so damn much and if you want something that works with mac, alot of stuff you go to mac, it costs arm and a leg. I have seen a freakin usb connector for $40. It's just a tiny little connector with a usb end. I mean come on. $40???
PC - you got so many vendors and price range it's freakin awesome.

Mac - iPAD - just came out a device that allows multi touch? that's also a computer? HA!
PC - Microsoft already had and posted video of their product that had multi touch technology and had capability to interact with your other digital devices. and in few years will sell to high end customers.

Mac - I have seen a virus on it. I have seen it crash. I have fixed it with a PC.
PC - fixes itself, other PCs, and MACS. There were some hard drives, that needed to be repaired but when mounted, it would cause a mac to crash. I just had to plug it into a PC, repair the drive cause stupid mac couldn't do it. Awwwww.
