Aren't there native/indigenous fireweeds?
Yep, plenty of them. the common name is often applied to various species of
Senecio
(and other non-related plants). A quick count of species for my region shows there are about 10-11 native spp., plus two introduced ones. The plant that this thread is about is
Senecio madagascariensis
