Hello Windeguy, thanks for the info.
Nothing comes without some side effects, but stevia surely seems more healthy than sugar and the artificial sugar substitutes. In fact, the sugar lobbyists and food industry succeeded in delaying stevia-approval in the E.U. for more than 10 years so they could continue to make us fat with all their calories.
Anyway, anyone seen any stevia plantations in the D.R. or does it only grow in sub-tropical latin america (uruguay, paraguay)?

My sister grew it in Tennessee. But may have been in her greenhouse, I don't know for sure, but I had it in mind that it was outside in the soil.
I was looking at huge packages of it, probably 6 or 8 pounds in Jose Luis Supermarket here in Puerto Plata this morning. Wondering at how long a package of that would last anyone smaller than an 80 table restaurant.
