Whistler is one of the best ski areas in the world...no way you would've thought that would be a problem.

The other problems....I guess that is debateable.
Whistler is where the alpine events are being held. Racing surfaces are way different then what the regular public skis on. Racing surfaces need a mix of ice with snow to properly groom the surface to make it fast. With the current rain, its causing a slush like surface and freezing lumpy. It also snowed a lot at the top of the mountain which is great for recreational skiing but can slow things down race wise.

Also all the free style events are being held at a completely different site, Cypress mountain, which is suffering from a lack of snow where the slalom world cup championships had to be cancelled last year for the same problem.
