They have to have a cause to obtain a search warrant (or a way to know who's machine to search) .. they get the warrants by doing searches online .. they search people's Shared Folder .. that is the only folder that is open to the public on your machine.

That's where you store videos/songs if you are sharing them .. like on limewire .. they have to be avaliable in that particular folder to work.
