Apple iPad. I have several thousand .txt, .html, and .pdf books stashed on mine, along with most of my music collection and a few dozen movies. I also have the entire text dump of wikipedia, three dictionaries, and a few thousand photos stored on it, all of which I can view "offline" without a WiFi or 3G internet connection. Makes a great web browser too... I'm posting from it now! Yup. The I pad is the way too go. I'm typing on mine right now.
