Sometimes breeders know more than vets. My previous dog had a devastating illness. We spent over $3,000 in vet bills. Nobody could figure out what was wrong. A breeder told me it was, "Shar-Pei Fever." I told one of the vets, (he had several). The vet looked it up and found out it was a real illness. My dog was put on colchicine which cost about $10 bucks a month and everything was fine until the pup lost his mind years later.

Oh... the point of that was to say... Vets study a LOT of different conditions and animals in that eight years of education... (Actually, four of those years is for a Bachelors degree which may not have anything to do with diagnosing or treating animals)... Anyhow while vets may have a wealth of general knowledge, a GOOD
