It was touching and heart breaking to read.. but its true.. I've helped out for the shelter here.. and other than the 72 hour adoption time, its true.. Here they give longer.. sometimes up to 6 months.. sometimes not even a day! but I am sure in bigger cities - where there are a lot more animals in shelters.. 72 hrs might be right.. I don't know how many times my heart was broke while I was there. And I stopped going in when I saw this rottie boy's situation and after him being put to sleep. He was about a year old give or take a few months.. his previous owner dumped boiling water on him over several months.. He was being held until their trial was over.. the state was pressing charges.. (which is a good thing), but through my time there - I spent a lot of time with him.. he was the sweetest thing ever - even through his abuse. When the trail came to an end and they no longer needed him, he was going to be PTS. since he was so severely abused.. they weren't even going to give him a chance.
