For me, I just personally like having more options when within 100yds. The club I use depends on the lie, the stance, the slope, the wind, hole placement, green firmness and obsticles. A 50yd shot may be hit with a 3/4 60*, a 52* pitch or a 8i chip, but it all depends on those circumstances. Hitting a 90% 4H is just much easier for me when I know I have 20-45yd buffer (front to back) from 190yds out. Again, just my game.
