awesome questions. i find that the same pre shot routine helps me clear my mind of all kinds of swing thoughts and whatnot, it also helps me focus on what i want to try to do with the shot. i find it a relaxing and quick therapeutic sequence more than anything.

my routine is simple. i stand behind the ball, find my "spot", take a practice swing, address the ball, one quick glance back up, then pull the trigger.
i do almost the same exact thing except i do 2 practice swings instead of 1..
