No it doesn't Bungle. Payment is taken when the order is finalised, not shipped. There are various reasons for this, but the main one is that UK websites require all online payments to be athorised in full before an order is fulfilled. If I order something that is out of stock now when I have xx in my bank account but it's not paid for straight away the provider might find that there is not enough money in my account to cover the item when it is back in stock.

Before some idiot tells me that I should keep enough money in my account, I should point out that I was just making an example and what I said should not be taken literally.
I'm not sure that is correct. I've ordered plenty of stuff that wasn't in stock and I wasn't charged until it was in stock and ready to be shipped, like Amazon and when I bought my iPhone for example.

Personally I'd take a dim view of any company that charged me for something before it was in stock.
