I think it's news because there was that case recently of a baby supposedly being attacked while she slept in a cot by a fox. This is following on the coat tails. I'd be suspicious that it was actually a cat or a stray dog rather than a fox and simply the parents are trying to get some tabloid cash for the story.
To a point i make you right here, but i think its also the underline thing about there being too many Foxes now in urban areas.
Its stuff like the council only taking waste every 2 weeks that will encourage them to venture more into our environment and multiply.
Rats now have more to feed on, Foxes now have more prey they can feed on plus the rubbish itself.

If ever you see the damage that Foxes do your no they are no cute or cuddly animal.
In no way could i justify a pack of digs ripping apart a Fox, but we do still need to cull the population and thats something that has been ignored.

Be prepared to read of many more cases of children and pets being attacked unless we bring the population under control.
