I cannot see this happening until computers are as intelligent (or more so) than people

I have no idea what you're getting at there, computers are as 'intelligent' as you can program them. Or do you want some true AI?

As for the car, as long as there is some kind of quick manual override, yeah I don't mind. It would make those 8 hour trips to San Fransisco more bearable. We already have the park itself Lexus.
