Excuse me ?
Why is he a Hero ? Because he did his job well ?

I´m not trying to down play the guy´s deed, because he did do an awesome job,
but heck he just did his job.

His actions saved hundreds of lives; I'd say that makes him a hero. You can't just say he was "just doing his job", these were extraordinary circumstances.
